Ecotricity have just launched their electric highway programme in the UK. Charging points are on some busy routes where people might need to stop and top up their charge before moving on.

One is at Gretna Green so your getaway vehicle will be fully charged before the parents turn up.

The scheme helps break the chicken and egg issue with electric cars. Interestingly Ecotricity have gone for the long distance charging as they indicate this is where electric cars need the support. In towns most people have access to off-street parking and distances are small compared to the range of modern electric cars.
