Keep our prices stable
Fuel prices are going to keep going up. We all know that we need to get off our dependence on oil. The longer we leave it the harder it gets. It’s never going to get cheaper.
Instead of cutting the duty on fuel, the government should be showing us how to save money by insulating our houses, driving economically, and increased remote working.
As soon as we start to reduce fuel duty it means cuts in the amount of money the government has to spend on infrastructure and services while keeping us dependant on foreign oil.
Lower fuel duty gives the government less leeway to buffer the economy when the really big hikes in fuel come along. Our economy doesn’t need to be dependant on the ups and downs of remote turmoils and power struggles over oil, it needs stability.
Start the fight back now. Keep our fuel duty. Get rid of foreign oil.
